Academic Member | Shahid Chamran University Of Ahvaz | Iran

Assist. Prof. Dr. Edris Shabani is a horticultural science researcher whose work centers on advancing sustainable, high-efficiency production systems for greenhouse and soilless crops through innovations in plant nutrition, biostimulants, stress physiology, hydroponics, and controlled-environment agriculture. His research integrates biological, chemical, and environmental strategies including mineral nutrition optimization, nano-based inputs, microbial biofertilizers, LED-light manipulation, and organic carbon enrichment to improve yield, nutrient uptake, product quality, stress tolerance, and resource-use efficiency in major vegetable crops. He has contributed significantly to enhancing plant performance under challenging conditions such as salinity, alkalinity, nutrient limitations, and reduced-input systems, and his studies have advanced practical greenhouse management approaches by linking physiological responses with agronomic outcomes. His work spans hydroponically grown lettuce, cucumber, basil, strawberry, tomato, bell pepper, and cabbage seedlings, with emphasis on phosphorus nutrition, silicon and selenium supplementation, seaweed extracts, Trichoderma-based biostimulants, nano-extracts, and plant–microbe interactions. Dr. Shabani’s scholarly impact includes contributions to ISI and Scopus-indexed journals in Q1- Q3 categories, participation in international research collaborations, and development of patented biological growth-enhancing technologies. According to Scopus, his research output includes 11 documents with 124 citations across 120 citing documents and an h-index of 5, reflecting growing international recognition of his contributions to sustainable horticulture and innovative nutrient management. His work continues to support the transition toward environmentally responsible, high-performance protected cultivation systems.
